I’m glad everything is on track”: Argentina team manager Hector Daniel Cabrera concludes Kochi visit with satisfaction

In a significant step towards hosting the football world champions, Argentina football team manager Hector Daniel Cabrera completed his visit to Kochi, leaving with confidence that preparations for Lionel Messi and his teammates are progressing smoothly.

Cabrera arrived in the city to assess arrangements for the upcoming international friendlies. His inspection covered a wide range of logistics — from the Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium’s preparations to the team’s accommodation, food, travel, and security plans.

During his visit, Cabrera was warmly welcomed at the Reporter TV headquarters by MD Anto Augustine, Chairman Roji Augustine, Vice Chairman Josukutty Augustine, and Kerala State Sports Council President U. Sharafali.

Speaking after his review, Cabrera expressed complete satisfaction:
“Thank you so much for everything. We are hoping to play the game in November. This visit was to understand the playground structure that our team will use in November. I am really glad that everything is on track. Some things are still in progress, but I have full faith that everything will be ready before the match. I have thoroughly checked the stadium, the grass, the flooring, local accommodation, airport transfers, and immigration procedures, and I am satisfied with everything,” Cabrera said at Reporter TV headquarters.

Before leaving Kochi, Cabrera added that Argentina is working to bring the same squad that played in their recent matches, raising expectations that fans will get to witness the world’s biggest football stars alongside Messi.

Meanwhile, Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman confirmed that the fans’ show will be completely free. He reassured that security arrangements are being planned and that the stadium’s seating will be fully utilized. The minister also revealed that details regarding Argentina’s opponent for the friendly will be announced within a week, while Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan is set to confirm the official match date and schedule in the coming days.

With stadium upgrades underway and excitement building, Kerala is preparing for the much-awaited once-in-a-lifetime football spectacle.
