Messi Event in Kerala: Minister Confirms Free Fan Show

Are you excited to see Messi!! “The fans' show will be completely FREE”: V Abdurahiman

The much-awaited Football festival is about to happen soon in Kerala, and Kochi will witness an electrifying celebration in November. Amid the lack of clarity on the dates and the rival team, the Kerala Sports Minister V Abdurahiman has given updates on the fan’s show.  ‘The fan show will be completely free, and there is no need for concern about security. The seating arrangements will be made to fully utilize stadium capacity, and the details regarding the rival team for the friendlies will be announced within a week’, Abdurahiman responded to the media.

Sports Minister V Abdurahman had earlier told Reporter TV that the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Kochi is being prepared for the international friendlies. Minister Abdurahiman also revealed that the Argentina team's manger, who visited Kochi stadium, had a good opinion about the field and expressed his satisfaction with preperations and the playing conditions.

The minister then added that work is underway to set-up suitable facilities for the match. He further confirmed that Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan will soon convene a high-level meeting to review arrangements and finalize pending details for the extravagant event.

‘The fans' show will be conducted in such a way that each and every football and Messi fans across the state would never miss the chance to meet the World Cup champions. Although the ground can accommodate fewer than 50,000 people, discussions are being done to get more clarity on the seating arrangement’, said the minister.

The Argentina Football Federation had previously announced that Messi and his team would be coming to Thiruvananthapuram, but due to concerns about the lack of facilities at Greenfield Stadium, the venue was changed to Kochi. As part of the upcoming extravagant event, the Kochi Kaloor Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium will undergo modifications, and renovations are currently underway. The final decision regarding the road show is yet to be announced.
