“Argentina Team Manager Thrilled to Return to Kerala Ahead of Messi Event”
Ahead of Messi and the team’s visit to Kerala, Argentina football team manager Hector Daniel Cabrera arrived in Kochi. Reporter TV MD Antro Augustin and Kerala State Sports Council President U Sharafali welcomed Cabrera at Nedumbassery airport. ‘I had been to Kerala 9 years ago. Now I am really happy to be back here, and it’s a wonderful moment for me’, responded Cabrera to Reporter TV. He was also joined by Gokulam Gopalan, Reporter, broadcasting company MD Anto Augustine, Chairman Roji Augustine, Vice Chairman Josukutty Augustine and Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman at Holiday Inn hotel Kochi.
Cabrera’s agenda will include assessing the security and other arrangements at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium, Kochi. He will also conduct a meeting with Sports Minister V. Abdurahiman and Reporter Broadcasting Company MD Anto Augustine, and confirmation regarding the accommodation, food, travel, and other facilities will be done. The Argentina Football Federation had previously announced that Messi and his team would be coming to Thiruvananthapuram, but due to concerns about the lack of facilities at Greenfield Stadium, the venue was changed to Kochi.
Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru International Stadium is also the home ground of the ISL club Kerala Blasters. The stadium was previously upgraded to FIFA standards during the Under-17 World Cup. Preparations for the match are currently underway,and the GOAT himself and team will land in Kerala between November 10 and 18.
